OxyAccounting Knowledge Base

Practical, task-based help for running your business in OxyAccounting, from the first setup to month-end and year-end.

Choose where to begin

New company

Complete the setup wizard, add customers and suppliers, and check your opening balances.

Day-to-day work

Create documents, record money, reconcile the bank, run payroll and prepare VAT.

Review the books

Run reports, inspect journals and use the control tools to find differences.

A useful order for a new business

  1. Set up the company, including its financial year, VAT setting, branding and ledger.
  2. Add the customers, suppliers, products and services you already work with.
  3. If you are moving from another system, capture opening balances and opening stock before normal processing.
  4. Work through sales, purchasing, expenses, payroll and bank reconciliation as transactions happen.
  5. Use reports and control checks before filing or closing a period.

Important boundaries

  • OxyAccounting prepares accounting records, VAT201 figures and payroll reports. It does not submit returns directly to SARS.
  • Bank information is imported from statements; there is no live bank feed.
  • Issued and posted records are corrected by a credit, cancellation or reversal so the audit trail remains intact.
  • Some pages are limited by role. Payroll and accounting controls may be hidden from standard users.
