Starting a business

Look like a real
business on day one.

Plenty of people open an account with us on the week they start trading. No logo, no website, and a first invoice about to go out on a blank template. We have spent a career building websites and designing identities, so we can fix both before that invoice is sent.

Three things a business needs before it can invoice anybody.

We already built the third one. The first two are the same person's day job.

01

A name that looks like a company

An identity, not just a logo. The mark, the colours, the type, and the everyday things you get asked for in the first month: a letterhead, an email signature, a profile picture that is not a stretched crop.

02

A place on the web that proves you exist

Before anyone pays a new business they look it up. A site that opens instantly and says plainly what you do is often the whole of that decision, and it does more work than any advert you could buy in year one.

03

Books that will not embarrass you at year end

This part is already built. OxyAccounting is our accounting software, and it is how we meet businesses in their first week, before there is a logo or a site. Your trial is free for 14 days and needs no card.

This is not part of the software. OxyAccounting is one plan at R149 a month with everything in it, and it always will be. Design and web work is a separate job, quoted separately, and nothing here unlocks anything in your account.

What we make

The brand comes first, because everything else is made of it.

There is no such thing as a website without a logo. The site, the invoice and the signage are all the brand wearing different clothes, so the identity is settled first and the rest is drawn from it. Where you already have a brand you are happy with, we work to yours.

Brand and site together

The identity first, then the site built out of it rather than approximated from it. Your invoices come out on the same thing, and you are trading and looking like a real company at the same time instead of six months apart. If you have nothing yet, this is the job.

Brand on its own

When the site can wait

A logo and everything that has to work beside it: colours, type, a letterhead, an email signature, social profile artwork, and the invoice itself. Enough to trade properly while the website waits for the money or the time. Handed over as files you own, in the formats a signwriter and a printer will actually accept.

Site on its own

When you already have a brand

We build to your existing identity. Bring whatever you have, even if it is one file somebody sent you years ago. If it will not survive being made small, printed or put on a vehicle, we will tell you before we start rather than quietly work around it. As many pages as the business needs and not one more, written as well as built. Selling online, taking bookings or listing stock are all on the table.

How it is built

Not the website you have been quoted for before.

We are not going to explain the technology, because it is not your problem. Here is what it means for you instead.

01It opens the moment somebody taps it

Not fast for a website. Fast. Pages are built and finished before anybody asks for them, so there is no waiting while something is assembled in the background.

02Nothing to update, and no maintenance bill

There are no add-ons to keep patched, so there is nothing to break at two in the morning and no monthly retainer for keeping it alive.

03There is nothing on it for anybody to hack

The site itself has no admin login, no database and no comment box, so the usual ways a small business site gets defaced are not present. Where you need to edit content, the editor lives somewhere else entirely and never on your site.

04Built for your business, not a template with your name in it

It is designed and built for what you actually sell, which is why it will not look like the other four sites in your industry that were bought from the same theme shop.

05Built so Google can read it properly from day one

The structure search engines look for is in the page from the start rather than added later by a plugin that promises rankings.

06Readable by the assistants people now shop with

A growing share of buyers ask ChatGPT or a similar assistant before they ask a person, and those assistants read a site the way a search engine does. Yours answers them in plain text they can actually take in, rather than hiding your prices and hours inside a script that never runs for them.

07It works on a bad line, in the sun, on any phone

Most of your visitors are on a phone on mobile data. That is the case it is designed for, not the one it is tested against afterwards.

08It is yours

You own the site and the artwork outright. You are not renting your own business back from anybody, and you can take it elsewhere whenever you like.

The guarantee

We guarantee the numbers.

Every site is measured on Google PageSpeed Insights the day it goes live, on mobile rather than desktop. If it misses any of these, we fix it before you pay the balance.

Do not take our word for it. Run the test on this page, right now, on your phone. It is the same test we will run on yours.

Test this page on PageSpeed Insights

Speed is the one score that moves after we leave, because adding a chat widget, a tracking pixel, an embedded map or a photograph straight off a phone all cost points. We will tell you which and how many before you add anything, rather than let it happen quietly.

How it works

We do not publish a price, and here is why.

We have never built the same thing twice. A headline price would be wrong for most of the people reading it. So the number comes out of a conversation instead, and once it is agreed it is fixed, in writing, before anybody starts work. Never an hourly rate.

01

A conversation

Twenty minutes, on the phone or over WhatsApp. What you are starting, who buys from you, and what you actually need. Some of it you will not need, and we will say so.

02

A fixed quote, in writing

One number for the whole job, with what is included and what is not written down beside it. Not an hourly rate, and not a number that moves once work has started.

03

A deposit, and a date

Half up front, the balance on delivery, and a delivery date agreed before anybody starts. Paid through PayFast, the same way the software is.

04

It goes live, and it is yours

Files, artwork and the site itself handed over in full. If you use OxyAccounting, we load the new brand into your account so your first invoice goes out on it.

Start a conversation

Tell us what you are starting.

A few sentences is plenty. You will get a reply from a real person within one business day, and a fixed quote before anybody starts work. If you would rather talk, call or WhatsApp 077 364 4897.

A sentence is enough. What the business does, and roughly when it needs to be trading.

A logo, a website, both, or you are not sure yet. Not sure is a normal answer.

No obligation, and no follow-up unless you ask for one.

Questions people ask first.

Because we have never built the same thing twice. A one-page site for a mobile car valet and a twelve-page site for a manufacturer are different jobs, and a headline price would be wrong for one of them and misleading for both. Tell us what you are starting and you get a fixed number, in writing, before anybody starts work.

No. OxyAccounting is our accounting software and it is the reason this page exists, because we meet a lot of businesses here on the week they start. It is not a condition of anything. You can have the branding and the site and keep your books wherever you like.

No, and nothing on this page changes what your subscription includes. OxyAccounting is one plan with everything in it. Design and web work is a separate job with its own quote.

No. Most small business sites are a general-purpose blogging system with twenty add-ons bolted on, which is why they are slow, why they need a maintenance plan and why they eventually break. Yours will not be one of those.

Tell us during the conversation and we will build for it. Where a page genuinely changes often, prices or a menu or opening hours, we set that part up so you can edit it without touching anything else. Where it does not change, an editor is a cost and a security surface for nothing.

A brand is usually a week or two, a small site two to four weeks, and both together roughly a month. The date is agreed with the quote before work starts, and it is a date rather than an estimate.

No. Company registration, CIPC filings and SARS registrations are somebody else's trade, and we will point you at people who do them properly. We do the brand, the website and the books.

Yes. That is often the more useful job, especially where the name is right and the presentation is holding it back. Tell us what you have and what is bothering you about it.

While you wait, get the books started.
